I had to write custom software in order to create the photáges. The process is pretty straight-forward, but the implementation takes quite a bit of work. Basically, I have to align each image, scan the data and then composite/combine them into a single amalgam. The photáges you see are the result. It's not the sort of thing I could easily release for public use (especially since none of it was designed with that in mind). Sorry :(

I know you said you won't tell how you did the fractals (or something like that), but can you tell us/me how you make your photages and what program you use?

Hey Lookee! That's me, in the center there... and there's my hair, or at least, a statistical abstraction of it... I was going for that look, honest!

These photages are neat, Lars. Thanks for making them. If I stare at it long enough, will I infer specific possibilities (single images) culled from the data? I think I see highlights from the bridges of noses... "is there a strange, meaningful reciprocal process after photaging?", is what I ask when I look at that image.

Cam Whore

	A composite of 2573 webcam self-portraits found on Live Journal and the such. All source images are 320 by 240 pixels in size and taken with 'cheap' webcams rather than consumer level digital cameras. It is a study in the composition of lo-fi / high-tech narcissism and the struggle for praise and acceptance.

	This image was created by compositing (combining, layering) groups of exisiting photographs (or other images) into a single work. The process is achieved by manually aligning each image, then scanning and layering them using custom written software. The intent of these works is to discover the patterns, trends and truth that may be collectively found in the vocabulary of the photographic arts.
